The Child Minders also known as the Live-in Nannies are provided by TBNA will have a minimum of 5 years of childcare experience and may also hold childcare qualifications. Live-in Nanny positions can either be sole charge where both parents are working or shared charge, where the nanny works alongside a parent.

The Live-In-Nanny is expected to undertake all nursery duties relating to the children only. This means providing care such as bathing, dressing, and preparing nutritious meals. Your live-in childminder will be expected to wash, iron and organise the children’s clothes and belongings. She will ensure that toys are clean and safe, organized and tidied away at the end of the day, and the play area kept clean and tidy. Live in nanny will also ensure the children are active and social; for example, she will organise play dates, attend baby classes, outings to the park, library etc.

A Nanny will use her knowledge and skills to further the children’s development through play. She will provide activities such as creative arts and crafts, construction play, singing, reading and other various learning opportunities. A Nanny is not expected to do any heavy housework, family cooking or any other chores not related to the children.

These are our Private maternity nurses (also called baby nurses) who are highly- trained or experienced nannies from leading nursing schools in Kampala and around the country with extensive newborn experience, nurses or midwifes

Maternity nurses care for newborn babies only and will expect to work for you for just a couple of months after you have given birth. Private maternity nurses work 5, 5.5 or 6 days a week 24 hour if they are required to live in; or they can also work an 8 – 12-hour routine days or nights only. We recruit mainly English-speaking maternity nurses mainly from Ghana, but we are very open to highly experienced baby nurses from all African countries.

In summary, the main duties and responsibilities of a private maternity nurse involve:

• Assisting you in establishing a routine within the home environment
• Care for your newborn baby
